Mike Warburton and Dan Read took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day 1 of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Adam Smith-Neale in the Saturday’s Champions Week finale at the Online Darts Live League.
Warburton, who entered Group C having finished 5th in Group A earlier in the week, won four of his five matches as he took the early lead by recording victories over Paul Hogan, Andy Hamilton, Richard North and Josh Payne, with his only defeat coming against Lee Evans.
Elsewhere, Josh Payne also ended the day on 8 points, but sits behind Warburton on leg difference, with Lee Evans sitting in 3rd on 6 points, Paul Hogan in 4th on 4 points, as Andy Hamilton and Richard North sit 5th and 6th respectively on 2 points each.
In Group B, it was Dan Read who took the early lead, as he completed a clean sweep with four wins from four, by recording victories over James Richardson, Matthew Dennant, Robert Owen and Nick Kenny, dropping just five legs on route.
Elsewhere, Matthew Dennant ended the night in 2nd on 6 points, with the three remaining players in Richardson, Kenny and Owen sitting 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively all on 2 points each.
Online Darts Live League continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Adam Smith-Neale in Saturday’s finale, with Warburton and Read taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 9:30am BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
