Mason Aces Super Series After 12 year Absence

Chris Mason was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week 12 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Tony O’Shea in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 1st prize.

Mason, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, won just one of his group phase matches, as he defeated Tony O’Shea, before losing to Richie Howson. He then had to compete in a 9-dart shootout to progress through to Semi Finals, in which he did and came up against Gary Robson, and came out a 4-3 victor to move through to the final.

In the decider, Mason took on Tony O’Shea for the second time on the night, and once again, he was victorious in coming through a last leg decider, finishing off with a 116 checkout to seal his place in Champions Week, picking up the £5,000 weekly first prize and the Week 12 crown of Stage One.

The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Champions Week, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
