Red Dragon’s Treble Boost: Peter, Gezzy & Jonny Extend

IT seems like only yesterday that The Boardroom team was commenting about the importance of extensions/re-signings as being as important in modern darts as the capturing of new talent.

That is because it was only yesterday! Red Dragon have just underlined the message by announcing a trio of the biggest extensions possible:

Gezzy “The Iceman” Price, Peter “Snakebite ” Wright and Jonny “The Ferret” Clayton have committed their futures with Red Dragon Darts taking the cumulative term to over 40 years with darts most modern brand.

This unprecedented treble announcement see’s Red Dragon’s superstar players winning the last 3 World Championships, 8 Major Titles and over 45 Tournament Victories, and more importantly over 4 years as World No.1 between them all.

The deals come off the back of the Iceman’s, Snakebites and Ferrets most successful periods ever with the specialist darts-equipment manufacturer, and the now superstars will continue to go head-to-head with The World’s best players with Red Dragon at their side well into the next decade.

The Iceman Gezzy Price expressed huge satisfaction and delight at the new deal. “I’ve loved this company since I started playing darts,” Gerwyn said in a statement announcing the fresh extension. “I’m really happy to continue this journey with Red Dragon.”

Gezzy added “They have been with me right from the very start and backed me all the way in my journey to become the World’s best player, we have so much in common as people that it’s more of a family situation than a commercial arrangement as we get to be really honest”.

Always looking to build on his success Peter became the World’s best dart player for the very first time in his career, which was always a huge dream for Peter who said “To become Double World Champion and World No.1 all in the space of a few weeks was absolutely amazing and something I’ve always dreamt about and worked so hard to achieve”.

Peter has turned himself into one of the most dangerous players in World Darts having a wonderful ability to reel off leg after leg, with different sets of darts for every occasion that has raised much debate over the years, where Snakebite has proven his doubters wrong time and time again refusing not to end his quest for the perfect throw and set of darts.

The 52-year-old said last year that he was going to win both the World Championship and the World Matchplay, fulfilling his promise after beating Michael Smith back in January.

Jonny Clayton commented “I remember walking onto Red Dragon for the first time with Jamie Lewis long before I was on the PDC and they backed me there and then, that belief has never left and its mazing for us to continue this relationship and hopefully nick a few more titles off the rest of them!”
