The final 16 players, including Fallon Sherrock, Arron Monk and Nico Kurz, secured automatic spots into the Final Stage of their respective Q School’s on Wednesday, after coming through on the decisive day of Stage One in their respective fields, with the remaining spots going to players via the Order of Merit’s, headlined by the likes of Jelle Klaasen and Larry Butler.
UK Q School
Reigning Women’s World Matchplay Champion, Fallon Sherrock, headlined the final eight automatic qualifiers to make it through to the Final Stage of UK Q School during Wednesday’s play, as ‘The Queen of the Palace’ bids to become the 2nd female player after Lisa Ashton to win a PDC Tour Card for the first time. Sherrock dropped just 11 legs across the day, as she recorded victories over Terry Winfield, Aaron Wood, Lee Davies, Colin Osborne and Steven Beesley.
Former World Youth Champion, Arron Monk, was another high-profile name to progress through to the Final Stage, as he bids to win back his Tour Card, after defeating fellow Englishmen Justin Hood in the Last 16 and decisive round.
Former Tour Card Holder Reece Robinson and 2019 Development Tour Event winner Shane McGuirk were among the further names to progress through automatically, alongside English trio Graham Hall, Adam Atkinson and Tommy Norris and Scotland’s Ryan Hogarth.
Elsewhere, among the names to secure their spots via the Order of Merit included Former Lakeside World Finalist Mark McGeeney, Former Tour Card Holders James Richardson and Scott Baker, as well as North American star Danny Lauby.
European Q School
Former Development Tour winner, Nico Kurz, who’s featured at the PDC World Championship on two separate occasions in his career, headlined the final eight automatic qualifiers to progress through to the Final Stage of European Q School, as the German star recorded victories over Nicolas Joannidis, Dalibor Smolik, Marcel Hoentsch, Eduard Szabo, Patrick Tringler and Teemu Harju.
Elsewhere, the further seven automatic qualifiers to make it through included Dutch trio Davy Proosten, Gino Vos and Alexander Merkx, Spain’s Ricardo Perez, Slovenia’s Benjamin Pratnemer, Czech Republic’s Vitezslav Sedlak and Belgium’s Jody Tobback.
Among the names to progress it through via the Order of Merit included Former Lakeside World Champion Jelle Klaasen, 1994 World Matchplay winner Larry Butler and Brazilian star Diogo Portela.
PDC Q School continues on Thursday, in the UK and in Europe, with the start of the Final Stage commencing with one automatic spot up for grabs across both fields, with play commencing in Europe at 12:00 CET and in the UK at 12:00 GMT. All live scores and results can be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com.
