Smith and Edgar Make The Running

Justin Smith and Matthew Edgar took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Darryl Pilgrim in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.

Welsh star Smith made his return to the Super Series, by taking the early lead in Group C, after winning four of his five matches and recording victories against Chris Quantock, Benito Van de Pas, Martin Grearson, and Jamie Durrant, with his only defeat coming against Colin Osborne.

Elsewhere, Colin Osborne and Chris Quantock ended the day 2nd and 3rd respectively on 6 points each, whilst Jamie Durrant and Martin Grearson sit 4th and 5th on 4 points each, with Benito Van de Pas sitting bottom on 2 points.

In Group B, Matthew Edgar took the early lead, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Richie Parkin, Scott Mitchell and Andreas Harrysson, with his only defeat coming against Jim McEwan.

Elsewhere, Andreas Harrysson and Jim McEwan also ended the night on 6 points each, but sit behind Edgar on leg difference, whilst Scott Mitchell sits in 4th on 2 points, with Richie Parkin sitting bottom on 0 points, having suffered four defeats from four.

Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Darryl Pilgrim in Saturday’s finale, with Smith and Edgar taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST.
