Lauby Wins Super Series Weekly Prize

Danny Lauby was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week One at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Wesley Harms in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 first prize.

Lauby, who entered Saturday’s finale having finished 2nd in Group C on Thursday and Friday, won just one of his group phase matches, as he won his opener against Moreno Blom, before losing out to Wesley Harms. However, The North American star did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against David Evans, and from there, Lauby defeated the Former Tour Card Holder, 4-3, to book his place in the final.

In the decider, Lauby came up against Wesley Harms for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Rob Collins in the last four, and this time Lauby got his revenge against the Dutchman, by sealing a 4-1 victory to become the first player through to Champions Week and pick up the £5,000 weekly first prize.

The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 2, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the reigning World Senior Darts Champion Robert Thornton headlining the field.

Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
