Hedman and Ashton Divide Inaugural ADC Spoils

The opening stages of the ADC Women’s Tour commenced last weekend with the Top 8 in the rankings all set to feature in a lady’s MODUS Super Series in Portsmouth.

Deta Hedman leads the way with 20pts ahead of Angela Kirkwood in 2nd by a point, with former 4-time World Champion Lisa Ashton and current Girls Champion Eleanor Cairns all in the Top 8 after the opening round of tournaments.

The ADC introduced their Women’s Tour in Yorkshire, with former BDO World Champion Lisa Ashton winning 2 competitions on Sunday after former World Master Deta Hedman claimed 2 tournaments on the Saturday. The Lancashire Rose included a 94.39 average and a 112 finish in beating Casey Gallagher 5-1 in the Final of Event 3.

16 events are scheduled for the Open Series in 2023, with 12 set up for the Female Tour. Cost have been deliberately kept as low as possible whilst the prizes are certainly a step up from many amateur women’s events.

Winmau Open Series Events 9-12 will take place at the start of July in Middlesbrough with the next 4 tournaments on the ADC Ladies Tour also featuring on the opening weekend of July.
