Scott Mitchell secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, after winning four of his five matches to end his Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the Modus Super Series. 

Mitchell, who entered Wednesday’s play on a maximum 20 points from the opening two days of Group A, topped the group overall, after winning four of his five matches. But his bid to become the first player to complete the ‘Super Sweep’ of all 15 Group A narrowly failed.

Scotty Dog recorded victories against Kevin Painter, Ray Mulvey, Doug Boehm and Marvin Van Velzen, with his only defeat coming against Sebastian Bialecki, to end on 28 points from a possible 30.  With 14 wins and 28 points the former WDF/Lakeside World Champion joins what is known as the ’14 Club’.

However, it should perhaps be noted that no member of the club has ever gone on to win finals night!

Elsewhere, Sebastian Bialecki and Kevin Painter will compete in Group B, after the pair finished 2^nd and 3^rd respectively overall, with Bialecki ending on 22 points and Painter on 14 points. The duo will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Beau Greaves, Adam Lipscombe and Rob Collins.  

Marvin Van Velzen, Doug Boehm and Ray Mulvey will all compete in Group C, after finishing 4^th, 5^th and 6^th respectively overall, with Van Velzen ending on 12 points, Boehm on 10 points and Mulvey on 4 points after finally managing to settle and grabbing two confidence boosting wins over Kevin Painter and Marvin Van Velzen.

The trio will be joined on Thursday and Friday Afternoon by Thomas Lovely, Stuart Kellett and Daniel Lee.  

The Modus Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 1pm BST and Group B commencing from 10pm BST.
